In this matter, the State has already filed an appeal for enhancement of sentence, since under Section 6 of the POCSO Act, a minimum sentence of imprisonment of about 20 years is provided. On the other hand, learned counsel for the appellant/accused submits that the appellant is in jail for the past six and a half years and has been sentenced to undergo imprisonment for about 10 years. He further submits that the appellant/accused has already undergone almost 70% of the sentence and therefore, his appeal needs to be heard expeditiously.

The paper book has already been prepared and the learned APP is ready to proceed with the matter on the given date. In view of the pendency of old appeals, the present appeals are fixed for final hearing on 10/12/2025.

In view of the above, the pending Criminal Application No.3814 of 2025 for suspension of sentence and bail stands disposed of.
