The relationship between the Petitioner and the Complainant is not disputed. Both are of a marriageable age. Both, however, profess different religions. It is also not disputed that out of the relationship, a miscarriage occurred since some tablets were administered to the lady, allegedly by the Complainant. 2.
The learned Advocates jointly submit, on instructions, that the Petitioner as well as the Complainant desire to get married. There are certain financial issues which need to be sorted out, besides following the due procedure as is required in law for solemnizing the interfaith marriage. They inform the Court that both Gauri Gaekwad
24.WP-289-2025.odt of them would be getting married on 25th June, 2025 under the Special Marriages Act.

The learned APP has rightly canvassed that considering the background that led to the filing of the FIR, it should not so happen that the FIR is quashed today, by consent, and in future, if the Petitioner refuses to marry the Complainant, the lady would find herself in a very uncomfortable and precarious situation. She, therefore, submits that this Petition may be kept pending and once the couple gets married, they can circulate this Petition and seek quashing of the FIR, by consent. The learned Advocates for the Petitioner and the Complainant are agreeable. 4.
