By this Petition, the Petitioner seeks a favorable police verification report in favour of the Petitioner as well as expeditious grant of passport for 10 years on receipt of the police verification report.

Mr. D.P. Singh, on instructions, states that in view of the adverse report, the Petitioner's application seeking renewal of passport was closed on 22nd January 2025.

He further states that if the Petitioner makes a fresh Suresh 1/2
910-wp-1574-2025.doc Application, the passport authority will consider the application afresh, on its own merits, uninfluenced by the earlier closure report filed by them.

At this stage, learned counsel appearing for the Petitioner states that Petitioner will make an application for renewal/re-issuance of passport within four weeks. If an application is made, both the passport authority as well as the police authority to act expeditiously. The police authority to submit the Police Verification Report to the passport authority, keeping in mind that the dispute is a matrimonial dispute. If the documents are in order, the passport authority to issue passport for a period of 10 years to the Petitioner in accordance with the Passport Act and the Rules thereunder.

In view of the above, nothing survives for further consideration in the Petition. Petition is disposed off. 6.
