Issue notice to the Respondents, returnable on 20th August, 2025. The learned APP waives service of notice on behalf of all the Respondents.

In the event the Petitioner desires to appear for any examination, the Jail Authorities shall ensure that the Petitioner is given an opportunity to appear for such examination, by making appropriate arrangements. Since the Petitioner is undergoing trial, the Jail Authorities shall escort the Petitioner to the exam center and is bring him back to the Kolhapur Central Prison, after the examination is over. 1/3

The Respondents are at liberty to enter their affidavits, at least, one week prior to the returnable date.

Insofar as the Petitioner's medical report dated 8th July 2025 is concerned, it indicates present complaint of bony prominences with tenderness over the left side of the chest wall. The report further states that the Petitioner was referred to the Government Hospital at Kolhapur (CPR) on 21st May, 2025. He has been examined by a Medical Officer, and he also had an X-ray done. A copy of the Prisoner's Medical Report dated 8th July, 2025 is taken on record and marked as 'X-1' for identification. 5.
We record that if the Petitioner requires medical attention, or makes any complaint regarding his health, he shall be subjected to a medical examination at the Government Hospital, and copies of the medical reports shall be shared with the Petitioner by the Superintendent of the Jail. 6.
The learned APP shall collect instructions and be ready to deal with the allegations of the Petitioner that he has been tortured in custody and has been denied medical examination. We will be taking up this issue on the next date.

Liberty is granted to the learned Advocate of the Petitioner to tender a typed copy of the hand-written memo of the Petition. 8.
Since it is well settled that a printout of the order of this Court, taken from the official website of the High Court of Bombay, can be acted upon, the parties shall act on such copies.
