In this Petition, the learned Advocate for the Petitioner has prayed that a direction be given to the Passport Authority to renew the Passport of the Petitioner for 10 years. No Order passed by the Passport Authority has been challenged. A blanket relief of such nature is sought. Mane 1/2

The learned Counsel appearing on behalf of the Passport Authority of India regretfully submits on instructions that the case of the Petitioner was met with an Order of granting the Passport for only one year. The same has already expired. The learned Advocate for the Petitioner submits that no application has been filed by the Petitioner, either for seeking renewal of the Passport or for re-issuance of the Passport. 3.

The learned Counsel for Respondent No.2 submits that, if the Petitioner makes an application for re-issuance of the Passport, the said application will be dealt with strictly in accordance with the Passport Act and Rule 2 of the Passport Rules. The said statement is recorded. 4.
