Heard the learned Counsel for the petitioner. 2.

The challenge in this petition is to an order dated 25th August, 2025 passed by the Deputy Commissioner of Police, Virar, whereby action has been taken against the petitioner under Section 55 of the Maharashtra Police Act, 1951 and the petitioner has been externed from Palghar, Thane, Nashik, Mumbai and Mumbai Sub-urban Districts, for a period of one year.

The learned Counsel for the petitioner submits that, the petitioner has preferred statutory appeal before the Divisional Commissioner on 25th September, 2025. However, the said appeal has not been numbered and no date for hearing of the 1/2

914-CRIWP5288-2025.DOC said appeal is scheduled. As the petitioner has preferred statutory appeal, it would be expedient to direct the Appellate Authority to hear and decide the appeal of the petitioner as expeditiously as possible.

The Appellate Authority shall list the appeal, a copy of which is annexed at Exhibit-D to the petitioner, for hearing on 27th October, 2025, and decide the said appeal as expeditiously as possible, and, preferably within a period of two months thereafter.

The petition stands disposed.
