P.C.:- 1) The case in hand exhibits absolutely pathetic state of affairs by the D.N. Nagar Police Station, Mumbai. An allegation of assault on Police Officer with a sharp edged weapon by the accused, is being investigated in most lackadaisical and casual manner. We therefore orally had directed the Additional Commissioner of Police (West Region), Mumbai to appear before us to apprise him about the same.

2) In pursuance of our direction, Mr. Shashi Meena, Additional Commissioner of Police (North Region), Mumbai, appeared in the second 1/2

ssm 2 23-wp5707.2025.doc session and submitted that, he is having additional charge of Additional Commissioner of Police (West Region), Mumbai, only for a period of four days. He assured this Court that, he will give necessary directions to the concerned and also apprise and brief the Additional Commissioner of Police (West Region), Mumbai under whose jurisdiction D.N. Nagar Police Station, Mumbai falls. The said statement is accepted. 3) We direct the Additional Commissioner of Police (West Region), Mumbai to file his detailed Affidavit in response to the Petition within a period of two weeks from today.

4) Stand over to 10th December, 2025.
