The learned counsel for the petitioner submits that, the application moved by the petitioner for restoration of electricity came to be rejected on the ground that there is no such power is entrusted with the Special Court. It is submitted that such finding is erroneous. It is argued that there is an inherent power under Sections 153 and 154 of the Electricity Act, 2003, more particularly, sub-section (5) and (6) of Section 154 of the Electricity Act, 2003, with the Special Court to restore supply of electricity. 2.

Issue notice to the respondents, returnable on 17.02.2025.

The petitioner is permitted to serve the respondents by private mode, in addition to regular mode of service, including service on the panel lawyer appearing on behalf of respondent.
