The learned counsel for the petitioner submits that, the application moved by the petitioner for restoration of electricity came to be rejected on the ground that no such power is entrusted with the Special Court. It is submitted that said finding is erroneous. It is argued that there is an inherent power under Sections 153 and 154 of the Electricity Act, 2003, more particularly, under sub-section (5) and (6) of Section 154 of the Electricity Act, 2003.

Issue notice to the respondent, returnable on 17.02.2025.

The petitioner is permitted to serve the respondent by private mode, in addition to regular mode of service, including service on the panel lawyer appearing on behalf of respondent. 4.
The matter be tagged along with Criminal Writ Petition No.136 of 2025.
