Heard learned counsel for the applicant and the learned APP for the respondent-State.

Issue notice to the respondents, returnable on 20.01.2026. The learned APP waives notice on behalf of the respondent - State. 3.

The applicant has approached this Court apprehending arrest in connection with FIR No. I-331 of 2025, dated 25.11.2025, registered with Kopargaon Rural Police Station, Taluka Kopargaon, District Ahilyanagar, for the offences punishable under Sections 305(a), 331(3) and 331(4) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023. 4.

Learned counsel for the applicant submits that the allegation against the applicant is that he has purchased stolen property, 1/3

allegedly knowing the same to be proceeds of a dacoity. It is submitted that the applicant has been roped in only on the ground that he is the real brother of the jeweller Yogesh Ravindra Udavant and has been deliberately implicated in the present crime. Taking into consideration the aforesaid submissions, I am inclined to grant interim protection to the present applicant till the investigation papers are placed before this Court.

O R D E R

In the event of arrest of the Applicant - Mahesh Ravindra Udavant, he shall be released on bail on furnishing a P.R. bond of Rs.50,000/- (Rupees Fifty Thousand) with one or two solvent sureties in the like amount, in connection with FIR No. I-331 of 2025, registered with Kopargaon Rural Police Station, Taluka Kopargaon, District Ahilyanagar, for the offences punishable under Sections 305(a), 331(3) and 331(4) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023, on the following conditions:

A) The Applicant shall attend the concerned police station and report to the Investigating Officer on every Monday and Tuesday between 12:00 noon and 02:00 p.m.

B) The Applicant shall also cooperate with the investigation.

C) The Applicant shall not pressurize the prosecution witnesses and shall not tamper with the prosecution evidence, in any manner.

Needless to say, violation of any of the aforesaid conditions may entitle the prosecution to seek vacation of the interim relief granted hereinabove.

The Investigating Officer shall make available the investigation papers on the next date of hearing.

Stand over to 20.01.2026.
