Heard Mr. Tamhankar, learned Advocate for Applicant and Ms. Ganapathy, learned APP for Respondent.

At the outset, Ms. Ganapathy, learned APP informs the Court that case before Trial Court is at the stage of recording of statement under Section 313 of Criminal Procedure Code, 1973 and is taken on day to day basis.

On the flip side here is a case of Applicant who is incarcerated for the past 6 years and 8 months. Vis-a-Vis the long incarceration of Applicant, a request is made by prosecution to pass appropriate directions to the learned Trial Court so that trial can be completed as expeditiously as possible and within the shortest possible time.

In that view of the matter, I direct the Trial Court to complete the trial within a period of one and half month from today positively. Needless to state that it shall be open to Applicant to approach the Court if the trial is protracted. 5.
