Learned counsel for the Applicant, at the outset, submits that provisions of the Maharashtra Protection of Interest of Depositors (in Financial Establishments) Act, 1999 (MPID Act), has no application for the reason that the Applicant is not a financial establishment.

Apart from this, it is his submission that this is a pure case of civil transaction and dispute in respect of purchase of plots. 3.

Learned APP and learned counsel for the Informant/Intervenor are called upon to make submissions with regard to applicability of the MPID Act.
