Heard Mr. Ramanik Pawar, learned Advocate for the Applicant and Mr. Tanveer Khan, learned A.P.P. for the State/Respondent.

Mr. Ramanik Pawar, learned Advocate for the Applicant submits that the maximum punishment in the event of conviction in the present crime, would be of 10 years. He submits that the Applicant was arrested on 23rd February 2016. He submits that the Applicant is in jail for a continuous period of 9 years and 5 months, in respect of the punishment, which may extend to 10 years. He submits that the trial in the present matter is progressing at a very slow pace.

On 24th April 2025, the following order was passed :- "1.

Issue notice to the Respondents returnable on 10th June 2025.

The learned A.PP waives service of notice upon the Respondent No. 1-State.

In addition to the Court notice, the concerned Police Station/Investigating Officer shall intimate about the filing of the present application and next date of hearing to the Respondent No. 2/Victim."

Perusal of the cause-title indicates that the victim is not joined as party-Respondent in the present case. 5.

Faced with the said situation, Mr. Ramanik Pawar, learned Advocate for the Applicant craves leave to add victim as Respondent No. 2 in the present Application.

Not objected to by Mr. Tanveer Khan, learned A.P.P. for the State/Respondent.

Leave to add victim as Respondent No. 2 is granted. Amendment to be carried out forthwith.

8.

Upon amendment being carried out, issue notice to the proposed Respondent No. 2 through the Investigating Officer, Phaltan City Police Station, Satara with the direction to file a Service Report on or before the next date of hearing. 9.

List the matter on 31st July 2025.
