This is an application for regular bail.

The learned APP submits that the trial has commenced and the prosecution has already examined five witnesses. On instructions from the Investigating Officer, the learned APP submits that prosecution intends to examine only twelve more witnesses. It is submitted that endeavour will be made to examine rest of the witnesses as early as possible.

In view of the above statement at this stage, I am not inclined to entertain the present application for bail. However, it appears that the Hon'ble Supreme Court has already expedited the trial by order dated 04.02.2025 in S.L.P. (Criminal) No. 18049 of 2024. The trial Court thus shall endeavour to conclude the trial within four months. Liberty is granted to the applicant to file a fresh application for bail if the trial is not concluded within a period of four months.
