Ms. Mallika Sharma, learned Advocate appointed through legal aid to represent the Applicant, has placed on record the Roznama indicating the status of the case before the Trial Court. The Roznama clearly reflects that on several occasions the prosecution witnesses were not produced before the Court, and on certain dates it records that the learned APP has not taken steps.

There is an order dated 11th February, 2025, directing the Trial Court to make an endeavour to conclude the trial within a period of six months from the date of receipt of the said order. Despite the order dated 11th February, 2025, till date, only three witnesses have been examined. The star witness i.e. the Complainant, has entered the witness box on 11th March, 2025 and his evidence was concluded on 9th October, 2025, spanning as as many as seven months. 3.

Ms. Gotad, learned APP, states that the prosecution intends to examine twenty witnesses in all. In these circumstances, the Trial Court is once again requested to endeavour to conclude the trial within a period of six months from the date of receipt of this order.

The offence alleged is gruesome and serious. The manner in which the Applicant is alleged to have murdered his wife is quite traumatic and brutal. In these circumstances, and since the the trial has already commenced, I am not inclined to enlarge the Applicant on bail, at this stage.

However, if the trial does not conclude within a period of six months from the date of receipt of this order, the Applicant is at liberty to file a fresh bail application before the Trial Court or this Court.

Bail Application is disposed in the above terms. 7.

Ms. Sharma's efforts are commendable and appreciable.
