This is an application sent by the Applicant through jail. The Appeal is admitted and his Bail Application is pending since 2019. The Advocate for the Applicant did not take any steps in getting the matter listed and therefore, the matter was just kept pending on the file of this Court.

Now the Applicant has sent a letter through jail that his sentence is almost over and therefore he does not want to prosecute his Appeal. He has prayed for permission to withdraw his Appeal. That letter is dated 17/04/2025. When it is placed before this Court, the learned APP on instruction stated that the Applicant has completed his sentence and is released from prison.

Considering this situation and the prayer made by the Applicant, the Criminal Appeal No.459 of 2019 is allowed to be withdrawn and is disposed of.

The Criminal Bail Application No.448 of 2019 in Criminal Appeal No.459 of 2019 does not survive and is disposed of.

The present Interim Application No.2178 of 2025 is also disposed of in the aforesaid terms.

The record shows that the Appeal and the Bail Application are pending since 2019. No efforts were made by
3 / 3 the learned counsel for the Applicant/Appellant to get the matter listed before the Court. This is sorry state of affairs. The registry is directed to find out such Appeals and such Bail Applications, where the Bail Applications are pending for a long time without being circulated before the Court. All such Bail Applications in which the Advocates have not sought circulation, to be placed before the Court for orders.
