Applicant is convicted under Section 307 and 324 of IPC and sentenced to suffer rigorous imprisonment for five years with fine of Rs. 3000/- and Rs. 2,000/-. The applicant has already deposited the fine amount.

The applicant is 77 years old and he has undergone two months' imprisonment. He was on bail during the trial and he has not misused the facility of bail. This being a short term sentence, applicant is entitled for bail.

The application is therefore allowed in terms of prayer clause (a).

During the pendency of appeal, the substantive sentence imposed on the applicant by learned Sessions Judge, Satara in Sessions Case No. 84/2019 by judgment and order dated 19.11.2025 is hereby suspended.
