The Appellant has filed the present Application seeking suspension of sentence and release on bail during the pendency of the Appeal.

The Appellant has been convicted for the offence punishable under Section 7 of the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988 and sentenced to suffer rigorous imprisonment for three years and to pay a fine of Rs.1,00,000/-, in default to suffer simple imprisonment for Suresh 1/2

The Appellant has also been convicted for the offence punishable under Section 13(1)(d) read with Section 15(2) of the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988 and sentenced to suffer rigorous imprisonment for three years and to pay a fine of Rs.10,000/-, in default to suffer simple imprisonment for one month. 3.

The Appellant has preferred the present Application for suspension of sentence. It is submitted that the Appellant has deposited the entire fine amount of Rs.1,10,000/-. The allegations pertain to the demand of illegal gratification. 4.

Considering the sentence imposed and the fact that the Appellant has deposited the fine amount, the substantive sentence of imprisonment of three years is suspended. The Appellant is ordered to be released on bail on appropriate terms and conditions. 5.
