The above Writ Petition was disposed of by an Order dated 17th February 2026. By the said Order, we had directed the Respondents to compute the interest from 1st December 2024 to 1st August 2025 under Section 244A and pay the aforesaid amount to the Petitioner. We had also directed that this entire exercise should be carried out within a period of four weeks from the date of uploading of the said Order on the High Court's website. We had placed the matter on board today for reporting compliance. MARCH 17, 2026 Mohite

Today, when the matter is called out, the learned Advocate appearing on behalf of the Petitioner brought to our attention that the Assessing Officer had in fact passed an Order dated 27th February 2026 calculating the interest payable to the Petitioner. He, however, submitted that the same has not yet been credited to the account of the Petitioner. Mr.Sharma, the learned Advocate appearing on behalf of the Respondents, had no instructions on this issue.

Be that as it may, we direct that the amount mentioned in the Order dated 27th February 2026 passed by the Assessing Officer shall be credited to the account of the Petitioner on or before 31st March 2026. 4.

We now place the above matter for reporting compliance on 1st April 2026.
