The Petitioner is a practicing Advocate of this Court. Respondent No.1 is the University of Mumbai.

The Petitioner has put forth prayer clause (a), as under : (a) This Hon'ble court be pleased to issue the writ of mandamus or any other appropriate with direction or order to the respondent directing them to make payment of Rs.7,66,050/- (Rupees Seven Lakhs Sixty Six Thousand & Fifty Only) till year 2023 alongwith the interest there upon.

The learned Advocate for the University fairly submits that an amount of Rs.2,20,000/- is being processed for payment since the invoices are in order.

Therefore, considering the Diwali festival, we direct that the said amount be paid to the Petitioner on or before 17th October, 2025.

With regard to the remainder amount, as claimed, the learned Advocate for the University submits, on instructions, that the Petitioner will have to tender certain invoices as per the usual practice. The learned Senior Advocate, Mr. Pakale, on behalf of the Petitioner, submits that the invoices would be tendered to the University on or before 31st October, 2025. With this statement made, we would expect the University to clear the undisputed bills, on or before 30th November, 2025.

In the event of any query as regards any amount which is disputed, the Petitioner would cooperate and would make an attempt to satisfy the University by following the due procedure laid down in law.

In view of the above directions, this Petition is disposed off.
