Mr. Aspi Chinoy, the learned senior counsel for the petitionerBMC states that the extent of permanently affected area would be 8.24 hectares and for carrying the proposed project 4450 mangrove trees are required to be permanently removed. On the issue of compensatory forestation, the learned senior counsel states that three times the total number of mangrove trees which are permanently or temporarily removed shall be planted over 31 hectares of land under the supervision of the Forest Department,

On the instructions of Mr. Joel Carlos, the learned assisting counsel, a statement is made on behalf of the petitionerBMC by the learned senior counsel that a short affidavit giving all necessary details about the proposed project shall be filed within one week.
