The present petition has been filed for direction to respondent No.3 to accept the domicile certificate of the petitioner without insisting that the domicile certificate shall be prior to 14.05.2025. 3.
The learned AGP has produced a communication dated 08.01.2026 (wrongly mentioned as 08.01.2025) addressed by the Commissioner of Education, Maharashtra State, Dhule, to the Principal Secretary, Education and Sports Department, raising the same issue as that raised by the petitioners in the present petition and requesting the State to accept that, in the Pavitra Portal, those persons are allowed to
P4-WP-260-26.odt {2} select "Yes" to the relevant column on the basis of a domicile certificate/resident certificate/school leaving certificate, etc., they would be able to take the benefit of reservation. The said letter is taken on record and marked as Exhibit 'X'. The learned AGP, upon instructions, further makes a statement that the Government will positively consider the said situation and would allow persons like the petitioners, without insisting upon a domicile certificate of a prior date, i.e. prior to 14.05.2025.

In view of the said statement, we dispose of the writ petition as the purpose of the petition is served.
