By this writ petition, the petitioner is seeking a direction to respondent No.2 / Caste Scrutiny Committee to decide expeditiously the appeal preferred by the petitioner challenging the rejection of issuance of the caste certificate. 3.

Learned AGP has placed on record a copy of the order passed by respondent No.2 / Caste Scrutiny Committee dated 30/09/2025, by which the appeal preferred by the petitioner has already been dismissed for non-prosecution.

Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the petitioner shall appear before respondent No.2 / Caste Scrutiny Committee and shall make an application for restoration of the said appeal. If

2 939 WP 324-26 such an application is filed, respondent No.2 / Caste Scrutiny Committee shall consider the same on its own merits and decide it in accordance with law.

In the event respondent No.2 / Caste Scrutiny Committee restores the appeal filed by the petitioner, which came to be dismissed for non-prosecution, respondent No.2 / Caste Scrutiny Committee shall make an endeavour to decide the said appeal as expeditiously as possible and in any case, within a period of four months thereafter.
