The present petition is filed by the association representing retired teachers and professors from aided colleges affiliated with Shivaji University, Kolhapur.

The limited grievance raised by the petitioner in the present petition is that petitioner has already moved the representation before the respondent Nos. 2 to 5 on 14th November 2025, 20th December 2025 and 6th February 2025, claiming thereby interest on the delayed General Provident Fund Payment in accordance with Rule 12 of the Maharashtra General Provident Fund Rules, 1998. However, the respondents till date ZIP

914-WP-961-2026 (C).doc failed to take any decision on the representation and therefore, seeks indulgence of this Court in the matter.

We have perused the representation made by the petitioner to the respondent Nos.2 to 5. Petitioners grievance is limited only to the extent of granting of interest on the delayed GPF payment. 4.

In the circumstances, the respondent No.5 is hereby directed to decide the representations of the petitioner dated 14th November 2025, 20th December 2025 and 6th February 2026 within a period of four months.

It is made clear that the petitioner be given hearing opportunity before passing any order on the representations of the petitioner. 6.

All the issues and grounds which are raised in the petition are expressly kept open.
