Heard the learned advocate for the petitioner. Learned Government Pleader waives service of notice for respondent No.1. Learned advocate Mr. V.C. Patil holding for learned advocate Mr. U.B. Bondar waives service of notice for respondent No.2. It is not necessary to issue notice to respondent No.3, as the petitioner's prayer is simplicitor direction to respondent No.3 to forward her proposal/application to the office of respondent No.2 for correction of her caste in the school records.

The petitioner states that her forefathers and family members are recognized and belong to the "Hatkar" caste, which is recognized as

{2} a Nomadic Tribe (C). Though the entire family of the petitioner and her ancestors having caste certificates along with validity certificates for the caste "Hatkar," her school record entry was made as "Hindu-Dhangar. The petitioner states that she obtained a caste certificate from the requisite department in the year 2014, which mentions that she belongs to the Hatkar Sr. No.29 caste, recognized as NT (C) as per the Government Resolution issued by the Education and Social Welfare Department dated 17.01.1990. The petitioner has accordingly submitted an application for correction of her caste in her school records, and the said application was submitted to respondent No.3, which is still pending. The petitioner states that respondent No.3 is duty-bound to forward the said application in accordance with the provisions of Rule 26.4 read with Appendix VI of the Secondary School Code; however, till date, the said application/proposal has not been forwarded to respondent No.2.

We have perused the documents on record and, accordingly, direct respondent No.3 to forward the proposal seeking correction of the petitioner's caste in the school records to the office of respondent No.2 within a period of two (2) weeks from today. On receipt of such proposal, respondent No.2 to decide the same on its own merits within a period of six (6) weeks thereafter.

With the aforesaid directions, the writ petition stands disposed of.

The petitioner to communicate a copy of this Court's order to respondent No.3 immediately.
