Present writ petition takes exception to the notice dated 18.11.2025 issued by Tahsildar, Jalgaon and notice dated 17.12.2025 issued by the Sub Divisional Officer, Jalgaon. Petitioner also seeks directions for release of his vehicle. 2.

Impugned order shows that an action is taken against the petitioner under section 48 (7 & 8) of the Maharashtra Land Revenue Code. A show cause notice has been served by S.D.O. upon petitioner, however, no further decision is taken till this date.

Learned counsel appearing for the petitioner submits that petitioner's vehicle has been wrongly seized and after

wp 1438.2026.odt seizure, it was not immediately produced before the S.D.O. As such serious prejudice is caused to the petitioner. 4.

Considering submissions advanced, fact remains that petitioner is served with the show cause notice by competent authority. It is expected that the competent authority would take decision within reasonable period.

In that view of the matter, writ petition stands disposed of with directions to learned Sub Divisional Officer to decide proceeding initiated pursuance to show cause notice within a period of four (4) weeks from today after giving opportunity of hearing to the petitioner as per law.

In case there is delay in deciding proceeding, petitioner shall be entitled to seek interim relief in the nature of release of vehicle subject to appropriate terms and conditions. If such an application is filed S.D.O., Jalgaon shall consider and decide same expeditiously.
