1) By these Petitions, the Petitioners are seeking registration of their proposed Labour Societies as per the proposals submitted by them on different dates, more specifically mentioned in the pleading of the Petitions. 2) Learned A.G.P. on instructions from Mr. Shirish Sapkal, Deputy Registrar C.S. 'N' Ward Mumbai submitted that, the said proposals were 2/4
KSG 5-Wp-1453-2026.doc returned to the Petitioners as the Petitioners did not comply with the necessary requirements as contemplated under the Circular dated 11th July, 2024. That, the said fact was informed to the Petitioners by the concerned Deputy Registrar by issuing necessary communications in that behalf. He submitted that, by a Circular dated 17th April, 2025, issued by the Commissioner of Co-operation and Registrar of Co-operative Societies, the Circular dated 11th July, 2024, has been withdrawn and it has been directed that, the procedure for registration of Labour Society be carried out as per Circular dated 2nd February, 2024. Learned A.G.P.
on instructions further submitted that, if the Petitioner(s) files fresh Application(s) for registration of the respective Societies, the same will be considered as per the provisions of law and the Circular dated 2nd February, 2024. 3) Mr. Kapse, learned Advocate appearing for Petitioners on instructions submitted that, the Petitioners will file their fresh proposals with the concerned Authority constituted under the provisions of Maharashtra Cooperative Societies Act within a period of two weeks from the date of uploading of the present Order on the official website of High Court of Bombay. The said statement is accepted.
4) In view of the above, in the event, the Petitioners file fresh proposals for registration of their respective Societies with the concerned competent Authority, as per the statement made by the learned A.G.P. and recorded above, the same shall be considered as per the provisions of 3/4
KSG 5-Wp-1453-2026.doc Maharashtra Co-operative Societies and the Circular dated 2nd February, 2024, issued by the Commissioner of Co-operation and Registrar of Cooperative Societies, Maharashtra State, Pune, on its own merits. 5) All the Petitions are disposed off in the aforesaid terms.
