We are informed that Writ Petition No. 1652 of 2026 has been wrongly listed along with a bunch of other writ petitions at Serial No. 19 in the cause list today.

Hence, Writ Petition No. 1652 of 2026 is detagged and taken up for consideration. The other petitions in this bunch are adjourned to 12/06/2026.

Heard learned counsel for the petitioner in Writ Petition No. 1652 of 2026.

The writ petition has been filed on an apprehension that the names of the petitioners are likely to be deleted or removed from the revenue record (7/12 extract). In that context, the learned counsel for the petitioners has invited the attention of this Court to the document at Exhibit C dated 31/12/2025. In the said document/letter addressed to the Respondent No. 5 - Talathi, Taluka Junnar, Dist. Pune, the Petitioner No. 1 has stated that he was "orally" informed that the names of the petitioners are likely to be deleted or removed from the 7/12 extract concerning the subject land. It is alleged that principles of natural justice are not being followed and this would amount to violation of the rights of the petitioners under Article 300A

of the Constitution of India.

Having taken into consideration the statements made in the writ petition and upon perusal of the documents filed with the writ petition, we find that the instant petition is misdirected, for the reason that it is filed on a mere apprehension that the names of the petitioners are likely to be deleted or removed from the revenue record (7/12 extract). There does not appear to be any concrete material to support such an apprehension expressed by the petitioners.

Such a writ petition filed merely on apprehensions and in anticipation, without there being any cause of action, cannot be entertained. 7.

In view of the above, the writ petition is dismissed. 8.

Nonetheless, we are of the opinion that the respondent - State authorities will indeed follow the prescribed procedure of law, in the event any action is to be undertaken with regard to the apprehension expressed by the petitioners.
