In this Petition on 16th February 2026, in the light of the specific submissions made on behalf of the Petitioners, this Court had directed the Petitioners to place on record additional documents, including copies of the award and the Application said to have been submitted by the Petitioners for referring dispute to the competent authority under Section 64 of the The Right to Fair Compensation and Transparency in Land Acquisition, Rehabilitation and Resettlement Act, 2013 ("the Act of 2013"). 2.
Thereafter, on 27th February 2026, this Court granted extension of time as a matter of last chance for the Petitioners to comply with the direction contained in the order dated 16th February 2026. Purti Parab
6-WP-2076-2026.DOC 3.
The record shows that till date the said direction has not been complied with. In this backdrop, the Learned Counsel for Petitioners on instructions makes a surprising submission to the effect that there is no land acquisition award at all passed by the competent authority. In such a situation, there would be no question of making a reference to the competent authority under Section 64 of the Act of 2013. It is contended that, according to the Petitioners, when they made enquiry with Respondent No.1, they were informed that no land acquisition award has been passed.
4.
The Learned AGP appearing for Respondent No.1 is requested to take specific instructions with regard to the said submission made on behalf of the Petitioners and report to this Court as to whether a land acquisition award has been passed.
5.
In this backdrop, list this Petition for further consideration on 10th April 2026 in the category of fresh matters.
