Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner as well as learned counsel for respondent No.2- the Education Officer (Primary), Zilla Parishad Hingoli.

The petitioner is challenging the order dated 29.09.2025 whereby application of the petitioner for correction in respect of her caste in school record has been rejected. However, the learned counsel for the respondent fairly submitted that the said application has to be decided in the light of observations of Hon'ble Apex Court in the case of Janabai Himmatrao Thakur Vs. State of Maharashtra [AIR Online 2019 Bom.1055]. He submitted that, the said application

(2) 60- W.P. 2512-2026.odt needs reconsideration on its own merits and in the light of aforesaid judgment.

In view of the same, the present petition stands allowed. The impugned order dated 29.09.2025 is quashed and set aside with direction to respondent No.2- the Education Officer (Primary), Zilla Parishad, Hingoli to reconsider the application of the petitioner dated 19.08.2025 afresh by considering all the material which is going to be produced by the petitioner, and to decide the same in the light of observations made by the Full Bench of the Hon'ble Apex Court in the case of Janabai (supra) within a period of two months. 4.
