In this petition, while issuing notice for final disposal, by order dated 11th March 2026, we had identified the short issue that arises for consideration.

In the present case, on 2nd January 2026, the petitioner had submitted a written application before the respondent No.1Deputy Collector (Land Acquisition) Metro Centre No.3, Panvel, under Section 28A(3) of the Land Acquisition Act, 1894 with a prayer for referring the matter for determination to the Court with regard to further enhancement of compensation. 3.

The said application is still pending before the respondent No.1. It would be appropriate that the pending application is decided at the earliest.

In view of the above, we dispose of the writ petition by directing respondent No.1- Deputy Collector (Land Acquisition) Metro Centre No.3, Panvel, to decide the application submitted by the petitioner under Section 28A(3) of the aforesaid Act, in accordance with law, as expeditiously as possible and in any case, within four weeks from today.
