CORAM:
N. J. JAMADAR, J.
DATE :
30th MARCH 2026 ORAL ORDER:
1.
Heard the learned Counsel for the parties. .
2.
A limited prayer in this Petition is to issue directions to the Apex ARUN RAMCHANDRA SANKPAL ARUN RAMCHANDRA SANKPAL Date: 2026.04.01 10:58:57 +0530 Grievance Redressal Commission ("AGRC") to hear and decide the Application No. 313 of 2019 .
3.
By an order dated 25th November 2020, AGRC had decided the Application No. 313 of 2019 and set aside the order dated 14th November 2019 passed by the CEO, SRA under Section 13(2) of the the Maharashtra Slum Areas (Improvement, Clearance and Redevelopment) Act, 1971 ("the Slum Act 1971"). By the said order, with a view to ensure the time-line for the implementation of the slum rehabilitation scheme, AGRC had issued a number of directions. To this end, in the ARS 1/2
24-WP-2943-2026.DOC event, the developer, M/s Ambaji Constructions, the Applicant in Application No. 313 of 2019, failed to comply with the directions contained in the said order, Respondent No.1 therein-Petitioner herein, was granted to liberty to file appropriate proceeding before the AGRC. 4.
Alleging breach of the directions, the Petitioner filed Applications before the AGRC. It is the grievance of the Petitioner that the said Applications are not being decided expeditiously. 5.
Attention of the Court was invited to an order dated 14th November 2025, whereby the AGRC has directed the Assistant Registrar, SRA to decide the rent related Applications expeditiously. 6.
Without delving into the correctness of the assertions in the Petition, since the AGRC has granted liberty to the Petitioner to move the AGRC, in the event there was breach of the directions in the order dated 25th November 2020, it would be expedient in the interest of justice that AGRC decides the Applications filed in the said proceeding, as expeditiously as possible.
7.
The AGRC is, therefore, requested to list the Application No. 313 of 2019, in its next scheduled sitting and hear and decide the said Applications taken out in the said Application, as expeditiously as possible.
8.
Petition disposed.
