By this Writ Petition, the Petitioner has sought a direction to Respondent No.3 for granting UDID Card (Unique Disability ID)/enrollment number to the Petitioner on the basis of the disability certificate dated 14 March 2012 issued by the District Hospital, Ahmednagar and ratified by the Medical Committee of the Respondent No.4 - Superintending Engineer, Pune Irrigation Circle and for that purpose issue necessary orders. 2.
There are other prayers which have been sought for in the Petition including impugning Government Resolution dated 27 June 2024 issued by the Respondent No.1 - State which are presently not being pressed. 3.
The learned counsel for the Petitioner has referred to the impugned notice dated 9 February 2026 which has called upon the Petitioner to 1/3
2 10-WP-3157-2026 (C).doc submit UDID card in the office as early as possible failing which appropriate action as contemplated under Section 91 of the Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act, 2016 (for short "RPD Act") would be initiated against the Petitioner. He has submitted that the grievance of the Petitioner is that the fresh disability certificate would have to be obtained by the Petitioner and there would be non-reliance on the disability certificate on 14 March 2012 issued by the District Hospital, Ahmednagar and ratified by the statutory Committee then constituted.

Mr. Kakade, learned Government Pleader appearing for the Respondent Nos.2 and 4 has submitted that the impugned notice dated 9 February 2026 has only called upon the Petitioner to submit UDID card to the office as soon as possible. It nowhere states that a fresh disability disability certificate has to be obtained by the Petitioner for obtaining of the UDID card.

Considering the above statement of Mr. Kakade and upon perusal of the impugned notice, the Petitioner is not obliged to obtain a fresh disability certificate and the Petitioner shall apply for UDID card on the basis of the disability certificate dated 14 March 2012 issued by the District Hospital, Ahmednagar and ratified by the Medical Committee then constituted. The Petitioner shall apply for a fresh UDID card within two weeks and submit the same to Respondent No.3, within a period of two weeks from obtaining UDID card.
