The Petitioner is a Commonwealth Games medal winner. He was appointed in the Armed Forces through the sports quota. He has completed only ten years out of the initial contractual engagement period of twenty years. This issue, therefore, needs to be decided by the Armed Forces Tribunal, before whom the proceedings are pending, registered as Original Application No. 140 of 2025.

The grievance of the Petitioner is that the next date of hearing in the matter is scheduled on 20.04.2026.

It is in the above peculiar circumstances that we request the Armed Forces Tribunal at Mumbai to list Original Application No. 140 of 2025 on 17.03.2026. Notice be served on the Non-Applicants, and the matter be heard expeditiously for passing orders, on or before 31.03.2026. In the alternative, if the Petitioner moves an application for an extension of joining time with the State of Maharashtra, the said application would also be considered by the Armed Forces Tribunal. 5.

This Writ Petition is disposed off with the above observations and request.
