Present petition has been filed to direct the respondents, especially respondent Nos.2 and 3 to decide representation of the petitioner to correct the school record.

The petitioner has come with the case that in his school record his caste has been wrongly mentioned as Muslim (Julaha) instead of Muslim (Musalman). He had made the application/representation to the Education Officer (Primary) on 17.02.2026 and it has not yet been decided.

Heard learned Advocate for the petitioner. Learned AGP waives notice for respondent Nos.1 and 3.

Learned Advocate for the petitioner accepts the mistake of the petitioner that he made application in original form only to respondent No.2 and he ought to have made a separate application to respondent No.3.

Here, taking into consideration the limited prayer of taking the decision, we direct respondent No.2 Education Officer (Primary) to decide the representation dated 17.02.2026 within a period of four weeks from today.

Petitioner is directed to make a separate application/representation to respondent No.3 with annexures within a period of one week from today and in the event such application is made to respondent No.3, respondent No.3 to decide the same within a period of four weeks thereafter.
