Heard Mr. Dhakephalkar, learned Senior counsel appearing for the petitioners. He submitted that in the present case the entire amount of compensation determined in a Consent Award has not been disbursed in ....1
favour of the petitioners and the reason for not disbursing part of the amount is found in paragraph 12 of the Consent Award dated 17th April, 2025. 2.
Learned AGP appearing for respondent Nos. 1, 3 and 4 submits that the objection, on the basis of which part of the amount is withheld, was rejected by respondent No. 3 i.e. Land Acquisition Officer, Thane by an order dated 18th December, 2025 and therefore, there is no impediment in releasing the balance amount in favour of the petitioners. 3.
As a matter of fact on instructions, a statement is made that the said respondent had corresponded on 18th September, 2025 with respondent No. 2 Maharashtra State Road Corporation Development Limited (MSRDCL) for releasing the balance amount, notwithstanding the pendency of the objection so that the amount made available to respondent No. 3 Land Acquisition Officer could then be immediately disbursed to the concerned party. 4.
We find that in the light of the statement made on behalf of respondent State authorities, it is the MSRDCL that needs to respond the petition immediately.

Issue notice to the respondents for final disposal returnable on 10th June, 2026 (HOB).
