By this writ petition, the petitioner seeks a direction to the respondent - Scrutiny Committee to decide his tribe claim of belonging to the 'Bhill' Scheduled Tribe, which, according to the petitioner, has been pending since submission of the proposal on 18/11/2025.

Initially, the proposal submitted by the petitioner was rejected by the concerned Scrutiny Committee on the ground of lack of territorial jurisdiction, as a result of which the petitioner is constrained to submit a fresh proposal.

Learned counsel for the petitioner submits across the bar that the proceedings relating to the petitioner's tribe claim have already been heard finally and the matter is now posted for passing of the final order. If that be so, the respondent - Scrutiny Committee shall pass the final order as early as possible and preferably within a period of six weeks from today. 5.

Learned counsel for the petitioner further submits that the petitioner has already made an application to the Collector, Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, seeking extension of time to submit the validity certificate and the same is pending before the Collector, Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar. If such an application is pending, the Collector, Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar shall decide the said application on its own merits and in accordance with law, as expeditiously as possible and preferably within a period of two weeks from today.
