Though the present petition arises out of proceedings under Section 77A of the Maharashtra Cooperative Societies Act, 1960, the ultimate consequence of action taken under the said provision is the holding of elections to the managing committee of the housing society.

Accordingly, the Authorised Officer appointed under Section 77A shall initiate the process of conducting elections within a period of two weeks from today.

3.

The State Election Authority shall ensure that the election programme is completed within the minimum possible time as prescribed under the statutory provisions.

The existing Managing Committee shall hand over charge to the Authorised Officer on or before tomorrow. 5.

The petition stands disposed of in the aforesaid terms. No costs.
