The petitioners have rushed to this Court apprehending that respondent No. 2 may act upon a communication dated 26/03/2026 addressed to respondent No.3 regarding disbursal of amount of compensation concerning acquisition of land with which the petitioners are concerned.

Attention of this Court is invited to a Roznama of respondent No.2-Competent Authority wherein it is recorded that hearing of the objections raised by the petitioners was closed on 10/06/2025 and that the order was to be pronounced.

The petitioners contend that order has not been pronounced till date and yet steps are being taken for disbursal of compensation to the respondent no. 3, which would render infructuous the objections being raised on behalf of the petitioners.

Since the subject property is located in Kalyan, we had adjourned the hearing on this petition to the afternoon session to enable the learned AGP to take instructions in the matter. 6.
Learned AGP on instructions submits that the matter was indeed closed for orders on 10/06/2025, but thereafter the concerned officer was transferred. Upon another officer taking charge, notices for hearing were issued on 01/06/2026 to the petitioners, which they received, but they failed to appear for the hearings fixed for 09/06/2026, 10/06/2026 and 11/06/2026.

It is submitted that now the hearing is adjourned to 30/06/2026 and the petitioners ought to appear before respondent No.2-Competent Authority, in the event they are serious about pursuing their objections. It is further submitted that the communication dated 26/03/2026 does not pertain to disbursal of the compensation amount but only an intimation to respondent No.3 to produce certain documents for executing consent agreement, for facilitating such disbursal. 8.
We are of the opinion that the statements made by learned AGP sufficiently take care of the apprehension expressed on behalf of the petitioners. At the same time, we expect the petitioners to diligently pursue their objections before respondent No.2-Competent Authority. 9.
Hence, the petitioners are directed to appear before respondent
No.2-Competent Authority on 30/06/2026 when their objections shall be considered on their own merits by the said authority. It would be only in interest of justice that disbursal of compensation awaits decision on the objections raised on behalf of the petitioners. 10.
In view of the above, the Writ Petition is disposed of by directing the petitioners to appear before respondent No.2- Competent Authority on 30/06/2026.

The said respondent shall grant reasonable hearing to the petitioners and the objections shall be decided on their own merits. This Court is not expressing any opinion on the merits of the matter. 12.
The disbursal of compensation is deferred till the decision on the objections raised by the petitioners before respondent No.2-Competent Authority.

With these observations, the Writ Petition is disposed of. Pending applications, if any, are also disposed of.
