Yogesh Subhash Kunte v. Priti Bondre
2026:BHC-AUG:15481-DB
IN THE HIGH COURT OF JUDICATURE AT BOMBAY

VERSUS
PRITI BONDRE AND OTHERS ...

SMT. VIBHA KANKANWADI & HITEN S. VENEGAVKAR, JJ.
DATE :
09th APRIL, 2026 ORDER :
.
Heard learned Advocate for petitioner. Though State is not a party, learned AGP places on record photo copy of the roznama of the matter of the petitioner before the Caste Scrutiny Committee of dated 30.03.2026. It appears that on the request of petitioner the matter was adjourned. On 30.03.2026 the statement of petitioner was recorded, however, then it is stated that he has not produced the validity certificate as well as affidavit of person of the relative on whose certificate he wants to rely. Therefore, there is room to believe that committee members have not committed the contempt
958_CP_178_2026 wilfully and there is no necessity to take cognizance. However, we certainly observed in view of the fact that many times when such orders are passed the Caste Scrutiny Committees do not approach this Court by way of application for extension to dispose of the matter. When time bound orders are given, then it is their bounden duty to decide the matters within the time frame. If it is not possible for them to decide the same, then by giving reasons they will have to seek extension of time to decide. Hope the Committee would adopt the procedure henceforth and would avoid the situation of issuing contempt notices.
Learned Advocate for petitioner submits that petitioner would approach the Committee and would cooperate the Committee in deciding the matter. With this statement, we dispose of the writ petition. ( HITEN S. VENEGAVKAR, J. ) ( SMT. VIBHA KANKANWADI, J. ) agd
