This Court, upon recording the statement of the learned AGP on instructions, passed an order dated 21/01/2026 directing the Scrutiny Committee to decide the tribe claim of the petitioner on or before 31/01/2026. It is informed across the Bar that the matter has already been heard and that only the final order remains to be passed.

By the present civil application, the respondent-Scrutiny Committee seeks extension of six months' time to decide the tribe claim of the original petitioner. We are not convinced by the

2 916 CA 2295-26 reasons stated in the civil application. However, by way of a last indulgence, we grant ten days' time to the Scrutiny Committee to pass the final order.
