DATE:

5th MAY 2026 P.C.:

Alleging violation of the order dated 30th September 2025 passed in Writ Petition No. 12176 of 2025, the petitioners, 3 in number, have approached this Court seeking initiation of the proceedings under the Contempt of Courts Act, 1971. 2.

In the order dated 30th September 2025, this Court has made it more than clear that no personal hearing is prescribed under the statute. However, this Court indicated that the objections filed by the petitioners may be placed before the respondent no. 1 who would deal with such objections in the Draft Development Plan. 3.

The learned counsel for the petitioners informs the Court that about 15 to 20 lakh residents would be affected by the draft development plan. In such a situation, the respondent authority is not required to deal separately with the objections filed on behalf of the petitioners.

4.

Contempt Petition No. 94 of 2026 is dismissed. [SUMAN SHYAM, J.] [CHIEF JUSTICE]
