We requested Mr. Kulkarni to seek instructions from the concerned Officer of the Corporation as to why the order dated 31st July 2025 passed by this Court in Writ Petition No.556 of 2025 and the directions in paragraph 3 are not complied with. Mr. Kulkarni immediately responded and has produced a copy of the communication dated 11th March 2026 on record, in which it is

Bhogale 907.cp-154-2026.odt stated that the hearing is fixed on 16th March 2026 at 12:00 p.m. Mr. Kulkarni submits that within a period of three weeks from 16th March 2026 an appropriate decision will be taken in terms of the order passed by this Court. Mr. Kulkarni submitted that there is no deliberate intention to defy the orders passed by this Court. Though there is a delay, in the facts and circumstances of the present case and considering the stand of the Corporation presented by Mr. Kulkarni, the time granted by this Court to comply with the order dated 31st July 2025 is extended by a further period of four weeks from 16th March 2026. 2.

It is made clear that liberty to the petitioner to approach this Court to revive the Contempt Petition is kept open, if the order is not complied with by the Corporation. In such case, we may be constrained to take a serious view of the matter. 3.

The Contempt Petition is disposed of.
