As regards the controversy involved in this matter, learned AGP for the respondents-State, on instructions, makes a statement that the competent authority to grant the gaming license is the Collector.

In view of this statement, learned Advocate for the petitioner seeks permission to withdraw the instant petition with liberty to file a fresh application before the competent authority, for grant of gaming license in accordance with the Rules For Licensing And Controlling Places of Public Amusements (Other Than Cinemas) And Performances For Public Amusement, Including Cabaret Performances, Discotheque, Games, Pool Game Parlours, Amusement
2 31. WP 472 of 2026.odt Parlours Providing Computer Games, Virtual Reality Games, Cyber Cafes, Games with Net Connectivity, Bowling Alleys, Card Rooms, Social Clubs, Sports Clubs, Melas and Tamashas Rules, 1960. 3.
The petitioner is permitted to withdraw the instant petition with liberty as prayed for. However, in case any application for grant of gaming license is submitted by the petitioner before the competent authority within a period of one week from today, the same be considered by respondent No.2 Collector, in accordance with the guidelines provided by Rules and decide it within the timeline provided by law.
