Issue notice to the respondents, returnable forthwith.

Learned AGP waives notice for all the respondents/State.

In view of the order we are proposing to pass, we need not call the respondents to file a reply. The only direction which the petitioner seeking is regarding the expeditious disposal of his caste claim, which is filed and pending before the respondent No.2, since 18.01.2024. We therefore direct respondent No.2 to decide the caste claim within six months from the date of receipt of the order.

We further direct the petitioner to appear before the Caste Scrutiny Committee on 03.02.2026 with the order of this Court. The Writ Petition is disposed of as such. The apprehension of the petitioner regarding any coercive action can be taken care of by granting liberty to the petitioner that if any such apprehension, along with any written communication, is received, the petitioner would be entitled to move this Court by filing an appropriate proceeding, permissible in law.
