DATED : 11th February, 2026 Heard Smt Anvita Pande, learned counsel for the petitioners. The petitioners whose land was acquired seek direction of this Court to the respondents to forthwith release the balance amount of compensation payable to the petitioners in respect of the aforesaid acquired land bearing Survey No.157 sitauted in Village/Mauza Khadki, Tahsil Seloo, District Wardha.

However, perusal of the petition reveals that the representation dated 02/08/2017 submitted by the petitioners to the respondent No.2Competent Authority and Dy. Collector, Land Acquisition (General), for acquisition of Lands for National Highways, Wardha is pending before respondent No.2 since more than eight years.

In view of the above, we dispose of the present writ petition with the direction to respondent No.2 to decide the aforesaid representation dated 02/08/2017 submitted by the petitioners considering the award dated 22/03/2017 so also the revised award dated 06/07/2017, within a stipulated period of eight weeks from the date of the receipt of the order of this Court, in accordance with law and after granting an opportunity of hearing to the petitioners.

The petitioners undertake to produce copy of the order of this Court before respondent No.2 within a period of one week from today. 6.
In the event if respondent No.2 finds that the petitioners are entitled for receiving the aforesaid balance amount, the respondent No.2 at the same time shall decide the issue regarding the interest to be paid on the delayed payment and the rate of interest on such amount of delayed payment to be paid to the petitioners. 7.
The decision taken shall be communicated to the petitioners within a period of two weeks of the date of decision. 8.
In such case, the exercise of payment of balance amount with interest shall be completed within a period of twelve weeks of such decision.

No costs.
