The father of the petitioner, who was working in the Regional Office of the respondent No.2 has died in harness on 23.02.2007. After the death of the sole bread earner of the family, the mother of the petitioner Mrs Pushpa Ramesh Kinekar had applied for grant of compassionate appointment on 09.04.2007. However, the respondents have not granted the appointment to the mother of the petitioner within stipulated period and she became over age. 3.

In view of the above, the petitioner had filed an application on 12.09.2019 alongwith all the necessary documents to the respondent No.1 for grant of appointment on compassionate basis.

However, learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the aforesaid application, which was submitted on 12.09.2019, is not yet decided by the respondents even after passage of almost seven years.

In view of the above, we direct the respondent No.1 to decide the application dated 12.09.2019 submitted by the petitioner, for grant of employment on compassionate basis, which is on record at page 25 (Annexure C) within a stipulated period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of the order of this Court.

The petitioner undertakes to produce the copy of this order before the respondent No.1 within a period of one week from today.

The decision taken thereupon shall be communicated by respondent No.1 to the petitioner within a period of two weeks thereafter.

Accordingly, the writ petition stands disposed of. Pending applications, if any, also stand disposed of. No order as to costs.
