and Registrar's Orders.
Mr S. K. Wankhede, Advocate for the petitioner/s CORAM : ANIL S. KILOR AND RAJ D. WAKODE, JJ.
DATED : 18 th FEBRUARY , 2026 .
Heard learned counsel for the petitioner.
2.
The petitioner, in pursuance to the advertisement dated 27.02.2025, issued by the respondent-Registrar, Dr. Punjabrao Deshmukh Krishi Vidyapeeth, Akola, had applied for the post of 'Junior Research Assistant'. The said advertisement is on record at page 17 (Annexure-A). 3.
Perusal of the advertisement reveals that there are total 30 posts, which are to be filled in by virtue of the aforesaid advertisement, and out of those 30 posts, five posts are reserved for candidates belonging to the Scheduled Caste (SC) category. The petitioner, being eligible for appointment to the aforesaid post, applied pursuant to the advertisement and was duly shortlisted. An admission card was also issued to the petitioner and he, accordingly, appeared in the examination.
4.
Learned counsel for the petitioner has invited our attention to the result of the petitioner, which reveals that petitioner has secured 112 marks out of 200 and was at Sr. No.
1. The said result is on record at page No. 29 (Annexure C). 5.
However, the petitioner is aggrieved by the fact that on 09.02.2026, the respondent has issued a list of candidates shortlisted for documents verification for the post of 'Junior Research Assistant' (Faculty) and the name of the petitioner is not included in the said list. In fact, the contention is that although five posts are reserved for the Scheduled Caste (SC) category, not a single candidate belonging to the said category has been included in the aforesaid list. Hence, the present writ petition. 6.
However, a perusal of the list reveals that the advertisement had reserved the posts of 'Junior Research Assistant' for various categories. Although the total number of posts advertised is 30, only 25 candidates have been called for document verification. It is evident that candidates from all the reserved categories have not been included in the aforesaid list.
7.
In view of the above, we direct the respondentRegistrar, Dr. Punjabrao Deshmukh Krishi Vidyapeeth, Akola to treat the present writ petition as a representation against the impugned list dated 09.02.2026, which is on record at page 39 (Annexure-F).
8.
The respondent is directed to consider the grievance raised in the present petition and the grounds in support of the same.
9.
The respondent is further directed to decide the aforesaid representation in accordance with law within a period of three weeks from the date of receipt of the order of this Court.
10.
The petitioner undertakes to furnish the copy of the present writ petition and the copy of the order of this Court to the respondent within one week from today. 11.
The respondent is directed to hear the petitioner, if necessary, before taking any decision.
12.
The decision taken thereupon shall be communicated to the petitioner within a period of two weeks from the date of the decision.
13.
The writ petition stands disposed of accordingly. No order as to costs. Pending applications, if any, also stand disposed of.
