As can be seen from the petition that the petitioner belongs to 'Thakur' Scheduled Tribe, which is a recognized Scheduled Tribe as per the presidential notification. The petitioner submitted a proposal on 09.04.2024 with the respondent/ Committee for validation of the caste claim.

It is the submission of the petitioner that till date the said validation proposal pends and has not been decided as yet. The petitioner has therefore filed the petition seeking direction to the Scrutiny Committee to decide the said caste claim within a specific period.

We have heard learned Counsel for the petitioner, who reiterates that in spite of a considerable period of time, the said proposal has not been decided.

Having considered the contentions canvassed by the learned Counsel for the petitioner, we disposed of the petition with direction to the respondent, Scrutiny Committee, to decide the

912 wp 1719-2026.odt 3/3 caste claim of the petitioner, which has been pending since 09.04.2024, within eight weeks from the date of this order. 7.

Petitioner to appear before the Committee on 04.03.2026 and to apprise the Committee of said order.
