She submits that the father of the petitioner was in the employment of respondent No.1 - South Central Zone Cultural Centre, Nagpur, and died in harness on 19th April, 2013. In view of the Scheme for appointment on compassionate basis, the petitioner immediately applied for appointment on compassionate basis on 8th May, 2013.

Respondent No.1, after repeated representations made by the petitioner, by communication dated 23rd September, 2024, called upon the petitioner to submit the requisite documents, which were duly submitted. However, since September 2024 till date, the respondents have neither granted nor rejected compassionate appointment to the petitioner.

Thereafter, on 9th July, 2025, the petitioner submitted a representation to respondent No.1 requesting expeditious consideration of his claim for compassionate appointment. The
102.WP.1724.2026 2/2 said representation dated 9th July, 2025 is at record page No.46 (Annexure-6). Even thereafter, respondent No.1 has taken no steps in the matter.

In view of the above, we dispose of the present writ petition with a direction to respondent No.1 to consider the aforesaid representation dated 9th July, 2025, as well as the application for grant of appointment on compassionate basis dated 8th May, 2013, within a stipulated period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of this order.

Respondent No.1 is further directed to treat the present writ petition as a representation and to consider the grounds raised therein regarding the appointment of other persons similarly situated to the petitioner on compassionate basis while deciding the aforesaid representation.

The decision taken thereupon shall be communicated to the petitioner within a period of two weeks thereafter. 8.
